Opening up a store inside of our local mall has been the exact exposure we've been looking for all this time. But we'd be lying if we said this sh*t was easy!!
At this point, I'm not sure who even reads our blogs whenever we do decide to post them. So, I'm just going to use this as a resource for venting until people really catch on and actually start paying attention, then I'll clean it all back up. But for now! My fingers and this keyboard are feeling mighty chatty!
It's so crazy how glamourous they make the Entrepreneur lifestyle look on social media, and you know what maybe it is for some.. You got YouTubers who literally just sit and record videos and make millions of dollars, while that's not my dream for entrepreneurship, I really wish it were a lot easier!
It's taken us 5 years to get to where we are now, we literally have a location in our local mall, over 1500sqft of space, beautiful stations from Impressions Vanity, and a beautiful DIY wall garden back drop that we created just the night before opening, we have more work to do
but it's off to a great start.
Yet, we haven't even had time to reflect, embrace, and enjoy because of complete and utter exhaustion from all of the work being put in. We went from only being at our previous location whenever we had an appointment, to where we're required to operate during mall hours and now accepting walk ins. It's been the best exposure we have had in the 5 years we've been a company.
We have so much gratitude for everyone who is supportive, more so, those who actually have taken time out of their lives to come in, give us encouraging words and even help around the studio. Friends, family, and associates who just come by to say hello and check us out, makes what we are doing feel so right.
We have so many ideas and plans for The Artistry of Makeup, and I've always said that the difference between TAOM and our competition, is that we are a BRAND/COMPANY 1st and foremost. We're just passionate entrepreneurs who happen to do bomb ass makeup, PERIOD.
I've come to the realization, as humble as we have been, we don't brag enough! We don't celebrate our accomplishments enough! I think it has to do with us knowing where we want to be and not being there yet so anything we accomplish, to us, is just something to check off our list. But when we interact with others and they express how proud they are, or how we inspire them, how we've helped them, or want to know how we do it....Makes us realize, we are absolutely on the right path.
This entrepreneurship life is hard as hell and it's not glamourous. So many obstacles, be it people, be it finances, be it time, that you have to push through! Keep us in your prayers! We are working diligently and making sacrifices to ultimately bring something to our city that it's never seen before. We're still paving the way....
